The Greeks gave fruit to the sick people so it will improve they sickness, this is something that we still today as eating the right fruit can increase the amount of vitamin C which is very important to improve your sickness like a cold, fever or even the flu. One out of three babies died even before they were one year old. Most people died when they grew up to be 40 and 50. Compared to us we live up to 80-100 years of age because of the development of health and modern medicine. We now have discovered chemicals and different ways to create efficient medicines treat the injured, but health wise we still use skills that were used in the ancient Greece times.
If we want to become a doctor then we need to get a qualification but in the ancient Greece times there were no professional qualifications for medical science, basically anyone could set themselves up to be a doctor. With ancient Rome and ancient Egypt, played an important part in medical history. But the all famous ancient Greek doctor were Hippocrates. In the ancient Greek times Greece were developing skills in trading, farming, warfare, sailing, craftsmanship and etc. But their knowledge of medicine developed accordingly. Now in our days we have to have a degree to be a doctor or to perform surgery on patient. If I wasn't treated by a professional doctor or someone who has done degree then I would think that he doesn't know he's doing, so that's not going to help.
Some of the ancient Greeks turned to the doctors when they were sick or injured. Most people still turn to the gods to ask for healing or even forgiveness, the only people who don't pray to the gods are people who have no religion or haven't chosen a path.
As a Muslim we pray to the god Allah, whenever a family member is sick we would pray for them to get better. Everyday we are supposed to do a routine called Namaz five times a day, and during the Namaz you have to say a sentence which is a sentence of forgiveness. To ask god to forgive you for all your wrong doings. Most people worship and pray to the gods in the ancient Greece times and today so we will continue to pass on those ways through generations.

Ancient Greek Surgical Tools to the Modern Day Surgical Tools
The ancient Greeks used a lot of dangerous tools from sharps razor blade to bowls to catch blood. The is a lot of difference from what they used to what we use today.
In the modern world we used stainless steel for all our tools and unlike the ancient Greece tools you are most likely to survive in a surgery than die during it. The tools that the ancient Greeks use and dangerous and can kill when not used for the correct purpose. The tools we use today and less dangerous and are very effective during a surgery. The ancient Greece surgical tools are much similar to the tools we use today, the shapes are the same its just that the the old instruments have a much higher risk in the patient getting an infection than getting a recovery.
If I had to choose the type of surgical instruments, to perform surgery on me, I would choose the modern day ones. Reason for this is because The modern day tools are much for hygienic and prevent any infection to occur. I would feel much safer being in the hands of professional doctors than random doctors from anywhere.

Difference in Celebrations
In ancient Greece there were laws for weddings and their had to be a way of burring a dead body. Today, for different countries or religions they all have different laws of having a funeral or a different way in celebrating someone's marriage. For a brief example the people who die or are brought to New Zealand to be buried they have to e put into a coffin and in the ancient Greece they didn't use coffins instead they put the body straight into the ground.
Their are different ways of celebrating marriage as different countries have different laws. For example: In Pakistan there is one month were you are not allowed to get married in, it is illegal. Reason for that this is because that month is the month of giving to the poor, so your not allowed to celebrate during that month. Also you can't have more than two meals at a Pakistani wedding.
The reason why births aren't celebrated as much in the ancient Greece was because 1 out of 3 babies died before they could attend their first birthday. When babies are born in our time they are closely monitor to check if they where diagnosed with anything. In the ancient Greece times that type of technology wasn't invented. If it was then babies have would have a less risk of dying before they were one.
