Ways of Worshipping the Greek GodsTemples were not places for worshipping but were considered the places of the gods, to honour the gods. The Greek people worshipped them in a separate places. Inside the temple they had a altar (Place for offerings) for sacrificing animals and food this was to please the gods. Also inside these temples they would have oracles and priests that were considered to be the gods keepers and speakers. The priests were used for conducting the sacrifices and keeping up with maintaining the temple, and the all important decisions were made by the oracles, they would do this by asking the gods about all the thing the Greek people wanted to know. The temples were public and were for all people from the rich to the poor and the weak to the strong, but these temples were never used for worshipping

What the Greeks thought the cause was for Illness
In the ancient Greece times the Greek people thought that illness was the doing of the gods. They would regally go to the temple of Asclepius and sleep in the altar (place for offerings), hoping that the healing god or his children would heal them. A Greek scientist named Hippocrates in the 4th century was one of the first people to believe that illness came from the body, not the doing of the gods. Hippocrates believed that the human body was made up of four humor (Black bile, yellow bile, phlegm and blood), which in a way linked to the seasons.
